Another Treasury

Have you ever won anything? I have. I won a ceramic Easter egg at a church luncheon one time. And I won a cruise, but my sister put my name in the drawing because she was too young to be eligible, so I don't know if that counts really. The first time my future husband and I went to Las Vegas, it seemed like I won every game I touched. But I knew to quit while I was ahead, so we didn't exactly come back millionaires.

Alot of times, I feel like I'm not lucky at all. But then I look around at all I have, my family, my husband, my cat, and I see that I really am lucky after all.

I LOVE France. It's a tremendous inspiration for my creativity. And today is Bastille Day! So to honor this holiday, here's a special offer for A Wonderful World. Today only, get 50% off everything in the store. That's right, everything, including photos in the Christmas in July section. Use the code BASTILLEDAY.

Here's how this works. Put your item in your cart and complete the etsy check out. In your notes to seller, enter your code, as well as the size print you are ordering. DO NOT PAY WITH PAYPAL. Wait until I send you a revised Paypal invoice, which will reflect the 50% discount.

Happy Bastille Day, especially to the French readers out there!

I think I've somewhat recovered after all of yesterday's drama. At least, I don't think that every piece of cat hair that flies by is a giant bug out to get me. Thanks to everyone for your moral support!

I put up a couple of new photos the last couple of days at wonderfulworld.etsy.com:

Check out the blog on Monday. I'll be celebrating Bastille Day, and you'll have the opportunity to purchase photos for 50% off the lowest price.

Twice in One Day!

Wow, look, I've blogged twice in one day. It must be some kind of record!

Seriously, I just put together a Treasury on etsy. It's all about Coney Island and there's a bunch of cool stuff from cool people, so check it out! http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list_west.php?room_id=15642

WooHoo!

One of my newest photos from yesterday is in a beautiful etsy treasury!

Such a Slacker

I feel like such a slacker for ignoring the blog for so long. That's what a long weekend will do to you!

We had a great 4th, relaxing a home and playing LEGO Indiana Jones on the XBOX. LOVE those LEGO games. I am not terribly eye-hand coordinated, so these are games I can actually finish, plus they don't have all the blood that most of the other games my husband plays has. A big Bonus!

I did start to add some new photos I've taken recently to etsy, and I'll be adding more over the next week or so. These are from my trip last week to Southern California:

Like the new watermark?

I'm also trying this out:
to give shoppers an idea of what the photo might look like hanging on your wall in a frame. What do you think? Does it work? Does it make you more interested in buying the photo? Leave a comment and let me know!

Don't forget the Christmas in July sale going on at my shop. 25% off on the new low prices on everything in that section!

Home again

It's good to be home. And with no big 4th of July plans, I'm just looking forward to hanging out at home and relaxing over the long weekend.

I've lowered my prices at A Wonderful World:

4x6 - $10.00
5x7 - $12.00
8x10-$15.00
11x14 - $25.00

And, to help you get started with that all important holiday shopping, I've got a Christmas in July sale on. Everything in the Christmas in July section is 25% off my new low prices. There are some great deals there. And you can find other etsy sellers with sales by searching for "christmasinjuly" all this month.

As part of the Etsy for Animals team, during the month of July, 100% of the proceeds of my photo "Escape" will be donated to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. All the featured EFA items this month are from the theme "Oh to be by the seaside."

I'm working on making some new photos available. Here's a sneak peek:

There's some flowers, tractors, New Orleans, and beach shots. Stop by the shop soon to see what's new.

I hope you all have a good weekend, and happy Independence Day to all you folks here in the U.S.A.!

Like I mentioned in my last post, I'm off this weekend to Redondo Beach, California to attend a conference for my real job. Between travel for work, visiting family, and vacation, sometimes it feels like I'm never at home. Traveling a lot sure SOUNDS fabulous, but really it just makes me tired. Plus I hate all the time I spend away from my husband and kitty cat.

On the upside, the travel gives me the opportunity to flex my creative muscle and take pictures of new places. That is the part I always look forward to.

So, between the trip and the Fourth of July holiday, I probably won't be blogging much next week. But my free shipping offer is still good here, though shipping my take an extra couple of days. And I'm getting the shop ready to participate in Christmas in July over at etsy. Stay tuned for more details on that.

I hope everyone has a great holiday.

...and time for a weigh in, literally. My husband and I have been on Weight Watchers for the past 13 months. It's really working for us, and, as of today, I am 5.5 lbs. away from my goal. I've lost 36.5 lbs. so far. Yay for me!

Nice catch, CrimsonWorld. I'm obviously not the Bama fan I proclaim to be, since in my last post I got the date for the opening game wrong! August 30 is firmly written in my calendar!

You may notice some new links on the right side and in the "Visit Me" sections. I now list selected photos for purchase on the following sites:

I'll be traveling next week to Redondo Beach, CA for my day job, so if you see a woman taking pictures like crazy, say hi. It's probably me. However, because I will probably not have computer access, I won't blog until I'm back, and more importantly, shipping from etsy will be delayed by a couple of days.

Speaking of etsy, I've been putting up photos like mad lately. Don't forget free shipping until the end of the month. Here's a few samples:

O So Sorry

OK, so apparently the BIG THING I posted about earlier isn't happening today. I'm really bummed, too, 'cause I was looking forward to it. Making my first sale on etsy would cheer me up, so I'll do a promotion anyway for all you loyal readers out there.

Anyone who can name this fabulous, most adorable kitty below will get 25% off any purchase at A Wonderful World. That's in addition to the free shipping special going on in June. Simply enter in his name in the notes to seller section, and I'll send an updated invoice with 25% off your order!

Over the past couple of days, I've made some more photos available on my etsy shop:

Here's a hint for tomorrow:

It involves a special discount for those who pay attention!

So, nothing really going on today, except some new things on A Wonderful World. Oh, and one of my jellyfish is featured on a Treasury, so be sure to check it out. But check back on Friday. I'll let you in on a big surprise!

A note on Treasuries: They are an awesome way to find great things on etsy. I puffy heart the Treasury.

No Winner :(

I only got 7 votes on the contest, so there was no winner this time :( . But I did add new items to A Wonderful World based on the comments readers did make.

A pair of rhinoceros at the San Diego Zoo Wild Animal Park May 2007. According to the keeper, this boy and girl rhinos are sweethearts and spend all their time together. By far the biggest vote-getter. Available in 4x6 and 5x7.

Beautiful South Beach, Miami, Florida, May 2008. Available in 5x5 and 8x8.

And, of course, I'm offering free shipping through the end of June.

I'm off to visit the in-laws for Father's Day this weekend, then to New Orleans for my real job on Monday, so I won't be adding any new photos until next week. But I'm taking my camera with me and hopefully I'll bring back some new great pictures!

There's a YART sale going on over at Etsy! Just search for YART and you'll see hundreds of items from very talented artists.

Don't forget, I'm offering free shipping in the month of June at A Wonderful World. And please help me pick what to offer next in the post below. There's a prize for the 10th comment!

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

I want YOU to help me out! I can't decide which two photos to make available next on A Wonderful World

Help me decide by leaving me a comment and letting me know your favorite photo from the 4. The 10th comment will receive a special surprise!
Flamingo
